Sicky Sunday turned Marvelous Monday

So, the dreaded 2017 stomach flu has hit my house.  Some fun things you might have missed if you haven't been blessed with this:

  1. Only wear things that are completely washable.  (Including shoes)
  2. It does NOT matter that you are a teacher, there are some that still cannot handle vomit including me!
  3. Children who are sick can sleep all day but when bedtime comes they become nocturnal!
I though I would share a few tips to help you stay healthy when the flu is running rampant!

REST
As teachers it is very difficult not to over extend ourselves and get the flu bug ourselves.  Rest is not just about sitting and doing nothing, its also about finding activities that help you revive yourself for a stressful week. Here is a book that is actually based on a teachers experience of getting warn out and how he fixed it by spending time with family.  It is filled with great ideas.

There are some articles floating that suggest that Grape Juice might actually help.  I am going to attach some articles that suggest it will help but I cannot guarantee.  However, my son currently has the stomach flu and I am drinking Grape Juice so if this works, you will be the first to know.


Water

Stay hydrated!  Water is a great way to flush your body.

Healthy Eating

I am not the best at this one because I LOVE chocolate.  Especially after Valentines Day and my sweet kiddos gave me all kinds of chocolatey goodies!  Anyway, eating a healthy diet is one of the best ways to avoid any type of sickness.
